Therapy for eating disorders in Austin

My Story

Hi! My name is Simone Zeschuk and I am a registered Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor in Austin, TX and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with 14 years of systems counseling experience working in both the US and Canada.

My family and I moved to Austin, Texas in 2012 and it has been my joy to call Austin my home.  Prior to our move, I was employed as a Registered Clinical Counselor in the Canadian Mental Health system where I had the privilege of working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who presented with a variety of concerns, including;  addictions, eating disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, parenting difficulties, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and psychosis.

My experience working through my own pain and hurt invoked a passion to want to help others. After a very long journey of academia, I graduated from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California with a Masters in Science in Marital and Family Therapy in 2006.  From there I embarked on the road to pursuing my passion which led  to working with teens, couples and families for Alberta Mental Health in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  I then moved on and was employed with Fraser Health Authority in Abbotsford, British Columbia as a Family and Group Therapist for the Early Psychosis Intervention Program.  It was at this point where I left counseling for a period of 6 years to concentrate on my other role; a mom and moved to beautiful Austin.  Here I began the humbling journey to gain licensure in Texas and began training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy; a theory of practice that I have embraced both personally and professionally.

In my free time, when I'm not working, you can find me spending time with my 3 daughters, in my home gym hitting the weights, or relaxing with my husband,  2 dogs and 2 Siamese kittens.  I love to travel and learn about different cultures.  I consider myself to be a very open minded, kind, and genuinely compassionate individual and would be honored to work with you!
